Jeffrey Strain has an ambitious goal--to turn one hundred pennies into $1,000,000 worth of food for food banks in the US. And that pretty much describes the Penny Experiment, for which this contribution of mine was done. One hundred artists were invited to pick a number between 1 and 100, and contribute a postcard-sized picture incorporating one US penny. (On this scan, the penny has yet to be pasted into the painting. But you can see one was painted in!) You can also see that I got (chose, actually) the number 98. The contributed paintings will be sold to raise money for the food banks.
