What do you put on an About page? (Janet’s biography, incidentally, has been moved here. She apologizes if you got to this site looking for a different Janet Chui…)
This site is Janet’s “base” and sandbox on the internet, hosting her personal gallery, PHP portfolio (which still needs updating), store, and whatever miscellany she wants to put online. Every so often (a lot often, actually), she tweaks and tests web scripts on the site like a mechanic “pimping a ride.” (Or the Doctor tinkering with the TARDIS, if you prefer that comparison.) This site is partly run out of a WordPress engine. All the code writing is done in EditPad.
You can also keep track of Janet at Facebook—if you want to “friend” her, include a note to remind her how she knows you, or let her know how you know her. She’s also on Indiepublic, a site for independent crafters and their fans; TalentDatabase, a talent portfolio site; Elfwood, since 1997 (her first online account at any web site); and probably other places she can’t recall at the time of writing this.
She also has a LiveJournal. (Though, she doesn’t keep track often enough of her Friends page—on account of it taking ages to read through!) She’s got her (almost full) Flickr account here, if you wonder about her shutterbug habits.
For making art, Janet enjoys Windsor-Newton and Daler-Rowney paints and papers, and the fact that with watercolours, she can create so much colour out of so little paint. It appeals to the environmentalist (read: cheapskate) in her. For digital artwork, she uses a 6×8 Wacom Intuos 2 tablet (for close to 7 years now and still going strong) and an ancient version of PhotoShop.
She currently lives in Singapore.
